Erin Price: Exploring Nepal
“My favourite destination/trip I’ve been on recently is Nepal, where I spent 12 days hiking and reached Mt Everest Base Camp. This was a trip I had originally planned to do in 2020 but was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid, it remained on my bucket list though and I’m so proud that I rescheduled and took the trip eventually. The people, scenery and food of Nepal were all far more amazing than I was expecting. This was the first time I would be attempting a hike of this type and I really wasn’t sure what to expect or how to prepare. A friend had given me the advice to go to the gym and just use the stairmaster which I promptly chose to ignore. The sleeping conditions, subzero weather, altitude increases and the long days of hiking are definitely not for the faint of heart, but it was such a life changing experience for me and really reaffirmed how strong mentally I can be when the situation requires it. I now use this experience as a way to pump me up if I’m in a tough situation or having a hard day, I say to myself “I made it to Base Camp, I can do anything!”
Andrea Keiderling Fehl: Navigating Norway
“My favorite trip so far was difficult to choose from but I would have to say it was to Norway. I had been to other European countries before my Norway visit but Norway proved itself to be set apart from the others. Unique. Wild. The people were kind, comforting, gracious. The land and scenery = absolutely majestic. Hands down one of the most beautifully influential experiences I ever had. Switzerland is a very close 2nd place. Maybe I am being partial because I am a good slice Norwegian!”
Ryo Arashima: Sightseeing in Turkey
“One of my most unforgettable experiences was a hot air balloon tour at sunrise in Cappadocia, Turkey. I was initially nervous about the weather, but when the tour went ahead, it was nothing short of magical. Floating above the breathtaking valleys, surrounded by a sea of colorful balloons, I was mesmerized by the golden hues of the sunrise and the crisp, fresh air. The vast, otherworldly landscape stretched out below, with fairy chimneys and rolling hills bathed in soft light. In that moment, I felt a profound sense of awe, realizing how small we are in the grand tapestry of nature. It was a humbling and exhilarating experience that I’ll carry with me forever.”
Bret Staehling: Relaxing in Bali
“One of my favorite destinations is Bali. If you take the time to understand the people and the culture, I find it hard to beat. And then add to that the natural beauty, extensive tourism offerings, and a favorable exchange rate. On my most recent visit I had the chance to stay at Buahan, which is a Banyan Tree Escape property. Each private villa offers a unique “no walls and no doors” experience, enhancing your connection with the surrounding jungle and mountain peaks.”
Kelly Nadir: Adventuring around Croatia
“One of my most unexpectedly amazing trips was a Backroads Multi-Adventure tour through Croatia with my husband and friends. Although I had hesitations—especially about riding a bike!—an e-bike made all the difference. From riding Roman trails to kayaking to an ancient church, every day was filled with incredible experiences. Warm ocean swims, fresh seafood, and dinners under sunset skies (including one night in Montenegro) made it one of the best travel experiences of my life.”
